Great build, the only problem is trying to getting the shambling out then waiting for it to die to become jagged. I instead ran a build with...

[skill]Animate Bone Horror[/skill][skill]Jagged Bones[/skill][skill]Death Nova[/skill][skill]Putrid Flesh[/skill]

I tried using Bone minions since you get two level 13 minions but they died too quickly. Too quick enough for Olias to try cast Jagged Bones, death nova and putrid flesh on both monsters. Olias did get better using Death Nova but not the best. Still turning your minions into Jagged Horrors causing bleeding while damaged by death nova then poisoned and diseased at the same time. Hmm, now I wonder how epidemic is going to do with this.

I've been using a variant of this build on my MM heroes and find it very effective. Since I almost always have a Searing Flames Hero, there is no need to wait for the bleeding to use Virulence/Epidemic.

I didn't have Virulence yet, so I took my Mesmer and Heroes to easily capture an elite that would have been difficult in the past without the Heroes.

Thanks for this!

A few time (not many) when olias bit the dirt I found myself with bunch of undead to fight as well.. I used Verata's Gaze in the empty slot and found with a quick rez olias had most of them under control again.

Just a maybe suggestion from a non MM expert.
Well, i suggest putting Olias in Defense so he doesnt take a whole bunch of damage. Or you could leave him at attack and take dark bond (blood magic skill). It should help him stay alive.

I agree, Minion Master rarely dies when a lot of his minions are still alive. If it happens too often then there is something wrong with the agro management, build or play style

With build as OP except of Reaper's Mark as elite, Olias MM rarely dies. With a small party size, getting started is always a bit dicey, but once the minion army is built he seems fairly durable. Using inscriptions that add armor based on number of minions.

Can this build be run auto by the AI or does it require user input?

Heroes won't ever kill minions.

Hey there nice built for Olias. Tried it myself and it's got a great impact. For far i have yet to get the elite for Dr. Olias, Virulence.

However i found that most of the mana that Dr. Olias gets from Soul Reaping, Signet of Lost Souls and Mana Drain are used to make minions. He can only take 10minions and everytime a creature dies he makes another and replace the old one, which in this case is a full health one. This somehow "waste the usage of mana"

Is there a another skill i can put in to deal more dmg? So Dr. Olias can use his mana more to target enermy. No experience on mm here !!

I've been trying out this build recently and i dont think it's particularly great. Monsters in PvE dont really last long enough to be bothered with virulencing them. I find it to be a waste of Olias' resources and a Jagged Bones+Death Nova combo is more than enough to keep a rolling army of poisoning minions. Disease usually only ends up putting strain on your tanks and your monks and Olias has a habit of never using Virulence on the correct (ie. most hp/strongest) foe. He usually wastes it on some puny little monster who was going to die in two sconds anyways. For a minion master there are far better elites to use than poorly targetting condition overkill.

I'm using thread necromancy on this post, because the initial idea is far too good to be just forgotten. Since I got Virulence, I don't ever leave home with Dr Olias and his sometimes assistant, Nurse Sousuke (Apologies if that put a vile image in anyone's head ^^ )

With my tank I soloed margonites for awhile to get masks for collector weaps for my heroes. After a bit, I added Olias in with a build similar to this... I'd kill a couple, then let him come in and start casting virulence/epidemic everywhere. The degen conditions + deep wound spread around definitely sped things up enough to more than make up for the 1/2 drop rate from having a partner. Not to mention the army of minions that started following us around, too...
